Bruce Bai

Hi, I'm Bruce Bai! I'm an aspiring software engineer currently completing my Master’s degree in Computer Science and Data Science at the University of Southern California (USC), following my undergraduate studies at UC Santa Cruz.

Over the years, I've had the opportunity to build a robust professional foundation through four software engineering internships—spanning companies like Medtronic, Best Egg, and Marlette Funding LLC. My engineering work ranges from full-stack enterprise web development and migrating legacy systems to optimizing database queries and building C++ Proof of Concepts that dramatically cut load times. Whether I'm architecting responsive web interfaces or streamlining backend data pipelines, I love tackling complex, high-impact technical challenges.

Beyond The Code

You’ve gotten a glimpse of the technical side, but I’m no robot! Here is a bit about who I am when I'm away from the IDE:

• Music & Acapella: I’m an active tenor singer in a university acapella group, and seperately, I love arranging complex music mashups (especially involving Taylor Swift) and using tools like MuseScore to bring vocal harmony charts to life.
• Vocal Range & Pop Stanning: I am a massive fan of Mariah Carey and Taylor Swift. True to form, I’ve spent years training to hit those high belts and whistles, as well as learn respective choreography by Taylor.
• Creative Energy: Outside of classes and coding sprints, you'll usually find me deep into music production, arranging, or exploring creative visual design.

Great, now you know who I am! I hope you enjoyed my introduction, and feel free to explore more of my website!
